Marion Farrelly emerges as the X Factor for MSM’s Megastar competition

Shares in MSM Corporation International (ASX:MSM) have gained 35% since mid-January in response to the signing of A-List celebrities for its Megastar competition. The launch of a social influencer campaign which will include 14 dancers from dance focused digital entertainment company, DanceOn also provided share price momentum.

Of course it should be noted that share trading patterns should not be used as the basis for an investment as they may or may not be replicated. Those considering this stock should seek independent financial advice.

This week’s announcement that former X Factor Boss, Ms Marion (Maz) Farrelly had been appointed as Executive Producer of Megastar is a coup for the company given her vast experience in that field. She will be responsible for talent production and the format of host and celebrity talent videos.

Farrelly’s resume reads extremely well, having been involved with leading US, UK and Australian television programs Celebrity Apprentice, Big Brother and Q&A, as well as the high profile X Factor.

Farrelly’s previous roles also include Executive Editor of Format Entertainment at the BBC and the Director of Television Content, Freemantle Media Australia.

Not only will Farrelly bring a wealth of industry experience to the operational side of the group, but she will also be pivotal in securing top-tier talent.

Farrelly provided a strong endorsement of the Megastar product in saying, “I love Megastar because it explodes the traditional concept of the regular TV talent show.”

She noted that a key point of difference was that the power really lies with the talent and the fans. Given it is the world’s first truly global and mobile first platform with a US$1 million prize on offer, Farrelly’s confident that the concept will be well received.
