Connexion Media (ASX:CXZ) has been awarded Gold Status Partner of Microsoft’s go-to market services, an endorsement of its position in the ‘connected car’ market.

More specifically the award recognises the group’s unique and innovative vehicle telematics solution and the company’s leading position in connected car SaaS sales globally.

CXZ specialises in developing and commercialising smart car software apps and services for internet-connected vehicles and mobile devices. The Company is based in Australia, with offices in Cambridge and Detroit.

Other high profile brands that have been awarded this elite status are Citrix, Docusign and HP. This is a significant development for CXZ as it positions the group to co-sell with Microsoft, leveraging off the tens of thousands of field sellers and hundreds of thousands of channel partners that are part of the network.

Although, how many of these partnerships prove successful remains to be seen and thus investors considering CXZ for their portfolio, should seek professional financial advice.

Importantly, global automakers and vehicle fleet managers are part of this network which should position CXZ to generate original equipment manufacturer (OEM) sales and assist the company in establishing relationships with fleet management groups.

Microsoft itself continues to build momentum through partnerships with a number of automakers, including Renault-Nissen, Volvo and BMW

CXZ is an existing customer of Microsoft’s cloud services platform, Azure, which it uses to power its telematics solutions, including General Motors Commercial Link service.

Innovative products that have gained global recognition

CXZ has two core products in commercialisation, Flex and miRoamer. Flex is a smart car solution that can manage an entire fleet of vehicles from a mobile phone or computer, delivering cost efficiencies through reduced maintenance costs.

CXZ has established a strong record of forging relationships with technology partners and end users while ensuring that it leads the way in innovative technology. The group’s progress since listing on the ASX in August 2014 can be seen below.

Flex is able to track a range of real time and historical data including vehicle locations, distance travelled, fuel consumption, battery life, engine performance and absolute and average speeds travelled.

miRoamer is a next generation internet radio product that allows users to pick up radio stations from broad geographies, including international stations. It is a market leader in radio technology, delivering a superior understanding of the technical, content and marketing demands of radio manufacturers and car makers alike.
