Gulf Minerals Corporation Ltd (ASX:GMC) is an Australian manganese ore and alloy producer with a focus on developing commercial projects for the economies of the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) trading region. GMC has facilities based around the capital of West Timor, Kupang, that are set to produce premium quality 78% ferromanganese alloy refined from Indonesian high-grade low impurity manganese ore. The project is set to be low cost because of low labour, ore and infrastructure costs. In order to better reflect its current business focus, GMC is seeking shareholder approval for a company name change to Gulf Manganese Corporation Limited, with the ASX code remaining GMC. A shareholder meeting is planned for 22 May 2015 where the name change will be tabled.
